Eco-Friendly Web Hosting
Host Your Website On Our Green Web Hosting Platform
We make a conscious effort to provide energy-efficient services to our web hosting clients.
From day one we established ourselves as a Green Hosting Provider.
Energy Efficient Hardware
Our virtualized cloud hosting technology allows us to use less hardware without compromising the quality and performance of our hosting servers and hardware. For example, instead of installing sixteen 2GB RAM sticks in a server we install four 8GB RAM sticks -- promising the same computing power while reducing power consumption by approximately 40 watts per server. All of our hardware is purchased with green ethics in mind as we need to do our part whenever possible.
Energy Star Qualified Appliances and Equipment
We've invested in Energy Star-qualified products as we continue our path to being as green and eco-friendly as possible! From the appliances in our break room to the desktops and laptops in our offices. Equipment that has been Energy Star-certified is designed and thoroughly tested to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful pollutants.
Proactive Approach and Long Term Commitment
We are pro actively seeking to reduce cost at every opportunity: the cost of power, cost to the environment and cost of our overall hosting service. We have received numerous awards from reputable hosting review sites for our commitment to make green hosting a standard in every aspect of our business.
Reducing Through Telecommuting
Most of our employees have the option of telecommuting from home. Studies have shown that telecommuting even half the week can reduce employees' energy consumption for work by the equivalent of 5,400 KWH a year.
Recycle, Reduce & Reuse
At HostUpon we pay attention to waste management. The three Rs - recycle, reduce and reuse are practiced in our office. Aside from reusing and recycling office materials, we also compost biodegradable products and use community recycling services when possible.
Every Step Counts
At HostUpon, we know that every step counts in improving our relationship with Mother Nature. Our code of conduct suggests employees bicycle, carpool or take public transport to work. Our lunchroom features coffee from sustainable sources that put workers first, and most of us also pack lunches in reusable containers. We believe that change starts in the workplace.
Green Office Ethics
In order to reduce paper usage, we enforce strict recycling practices in our offices and ensure paperwork is printed only when required. All unnecessarily printed paper is sent to recycling bins within the office for future reuse. We also ensure all equipment is powered off when idle and when not at the desk.
